American actor Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8 in 1967). She is most famous for her roles as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim as well as her recurring role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was born in Menlo Park in the south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. Courtney at seven years old at the time, divorced her father, Walter Smith. She was a part of both of her parents at different times. Jennifer is her older sister, is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. In high school, she also took part in performances with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith made her debut film appearance in the feature film drama Lucas along with Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the late 1980s , she also appeared in a variety of films which included Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). She was in the role of Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, and was Chairman of the Board. In 2009 she was the lead in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was a fan of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the 1990s. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple separated in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group Marketing Company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. She gave birth to Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008 at 40 years old.
